Sadly, this elephant placed there in Felpham in Sussex in September 2022 was taken recently in October 2023. It has the normal ceramic plaque and underneath it has a slate plaque which reads: ‘For my sister Christina, her wonderful family and the people of Felpham and Bognor Regis’.

I have been contacted by people in the area to let me know how saddened they are, as am I. My sister is no longer on this mortal coil, having departed in Jan 2023 and this served as a memorial, for me at least, and maybe for others too.
